SizeLeafA good first print.
A few small settings make a big difference. This guide covers the SizeLeaf version currently in development.
Keep your photos at the size you chose
- In Paper & spacing, choose the paper actually loaded in your printer. Use the same paper size when printing.
- Tap a photo to set its width and height. Choose inches, centimeters or millimeters. “Keep original shape” changes both dimensions together. Turn it off to choose a different shape, then adjust the crop.
- Open Preview & print and save the PDF. In your printer or PDF viewer, choose Actual size or 100%. Disable “Fit to page”, “Shrink” and any automatic enlargement.
- Print one test sheet on ordinary paper. Measure a photo with a ruler before using your photo paper.
Some mobile printer dialogs do not expose scaling controls. If yours does not, save the PDF and print it from a computer or a printer app that offers actual-size printing.
A print came out too small or too large
Check the PDF viewer and printer scaling first. Borderless printing can enlarge an image beyond the paper edges. Choose a normal paper mode with margins where possible. In SizeLeaf, turn on Add a 50 mm check mark under Paper & spacing. The mark should measure 50 mm, or about 1.969 inches, on the printed sheet.
SizeLeaf controls dimensions in the PDF. Your printer, driver and paper settings control the physical output.
A photo does not fit
Choose larger paper, reduce the photo dimensions, or adjust your page margin and photo gap. Allowing photos to rotate may help. SizeLeaf can use more sheets without shrinking your photos. A printer may need a larger margin than the app default; check your printer’s printable area.
A photo looks soft
The resolution note in Photo size describes the pixels left after cropping. Use a higher-resolution original, reduce the print size, or zoom the crop out. Screenshots and images saved from messaging apps may have fewer pixels than the original photo. SizeLeaf does not invent missing detail.
Save, copy and recover a layout
Changes save on this device as you work. Open Your layouts to find a saved sheet. Its options let you make a copy or move it to Removed. Use the trash icon in the library to view removed layouts, then choose Restore layout. Nothing in Removed is deleted automatically.
“Delete forever” permanently removes that saved layout after confirmation. It does not delete the original photo from your device photo library.
Keep a backup before changing devices
From the editor’s menu, choose Save layout backup. Save the file outside SizeLeaf, somewhere you will still have access to after changing devices or removing the app. The backup includes the layout, imported originals and working photo copies. Open layout backup opens it as a separate layout, keeping existing layouts in place.
A PDF is for printing. A layout backup is for editing again. Keep both when the layout matters to you. Backup files contain your photos, so share them only with people you choose.

Email contact@sizeleaf.com with “SizeLeaf” in the subject. Include your device model, operating system version and the step that did not work. For print sizing, also include the printer model and paper size.
